1. I am looking for records from a local church or about my ancestor. What does the library have?

Schaff Library does not collect local church records nor do we have much in our archives of interest to family historians. We suggest you be in contact with the Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society.

2. I don't remember my password. How do I reset my password to login to Moodle?

On the login page, under the "Login" button, is a link: "Forgot username or password?" Click on this link and enter your lancasterseminary.edu email address. You will receive an email shortly with a link to reset your password.

3. I forgot my library login information. Can you help me?

Your login is your library account number and your password is either your last name (case sensitive) or one of your choosing. Library patrons whose accounts were created after August 2015 should have received this information in an email. If you cannot remember or find your library login information, you will have to contact the library directly. You may ask in person at the Circulation Desk, call the Circulation Desk at 717-290-8707, or submit a request online using Ask the Librarian. Please specify if you are needing your account number, a password reset, or both.

5. Is a My EBSCOhost account the same thing as my library account?

Unfortunately no, a My EBSCOhost account is separate from your library account. You will always have to use your library account number to authenticate (i.e. "prove") your relationship to LTS. You are able to login to your My EBSCOhost account after you have been authenticated as an LTS user. The good thing is that you are able to set up your My EBSCOhost account with a username and password of your choice. To help minimize confusion, you could use the same username and/or password as you have for your library account. Once you have set up a My EBSCOhost account, you will be able to download eBooks, save search results and citations from our databases, set up alerts and more.

6. My books are due today but I can't bring them back today. Will you renew them for me?

We appreciate it when you renew your materials online yourself.

  1. Go to https://library.lancasterseminary.edu.
  2. Use the button at the top or the form on the right side of the window to log in to your library account.
  3. Your login is your library account number - call or email us if you can't remember or find this.
  4. If this is your first time logging in, your password is your last name (case and punctuation sensitive) - call or email us if you need your password reset
  5. Once you are logged in, all items checked out to your account will appear on the summary page. Click "Renew All" to renew all your items, or check the box next to the item(s) you want to renew and click "Renew Selected." If your item does not renew, it may not be eligible to renew and you should plan to return it as soon as possible.
  6. Note your new due date.

7. Our church is closing and we would like to donate our church archives to your library.

Schaff Library is the repository for the institutional archives of Lancaster Theological Seminary. We do not accept additional archival donations. We suggest you be in contact with the Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society.

8. Who is eligible for off-campus access to e-resources?

Many of our online resources are available through a subscription license that tells us who may have off-campus access. In all cases, currently enrolled LTS students as well as staff, faculty, and current adjunct instructors may have remote access to our online resources. Some of our online resources may also be used remotely by LTS alumni/ae who have current library accounts.
