1. I am looking for records from a local church or about my ancestor. What does the library have?

Schaff Library does not collect or house local church records nor do we have much in our archives of interest to family historians. We suggest you contact with the Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society.

2. I forgot my library login information. Can you help me?

If you have forgotten your library password, please use the Forgot your password? link under the log in button on the library's main page. You may use either the email address associated with your account or your library card number to get a password reset link sent to you by email.

4. Is a My EBSCOhost account the same thing as my library account?

A My EBSCOhost account is a place within EBSCO where you can save items and searches, set up search alerts, and manage your eBook checkouts. When you have authenticated your access to EBSCO using your library account, click on the sign in link in the top right corner. This will prompt you to create a My EBSCOhost account and link it to your authenticated library account. Once the account is linked, you will always have access to this My EBSCOhost account whenever you are in EBSCO.

5. My books are due today but I can't bring them back today. Will you renew them for me?

We appreciate it when you renew your materials online yourself.

  1. Go to https://library.lancasterseminary.edu.
  2. Log in to your account with your lancasterseminary.edu account credentials or with your library account credentials. If you do not remember your library account password, please use the Forgot your password? link to have a password reset link sent by email.
  3. Once you are logged in, all items checked out to your account will appear on the summary page. Click "Renew All" to renew all your items, or check the box next to the item(s) you want to renew and click "Renew Selected." If your item does not renew, it may not be eligible to renew and you should plan to return it as soon as possible.
  4. Note your new due date.

6. Our church is closing and we would like to donate our church archives to your library.

Schaff Library is the repository for the institutional archives of Lancaster Theological Seminary. We do not accept additional archival donations. We suggest you contact the Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society.

7. Who is eligible for off-campus access to e-resources?

Many of our online resources are available through a subscription license that tells us who may have off-campus access. In all cases, currently enrolled LTS students as well as staff, faculty, and current adjunct instructors may have remote access to our online resources. Some of our online resources may also be used remotely by LTS alumni/ae who have current library accounts.
